Rebecca Zimmerman, former resident of Carlos, recently published her first novel, Beyond the Darkness.
A lifelong resident of Minnesota, currently living in Brooklyn Park, Zimmerman wrote the book while she was recovering from a serious illness. She has been writing poems and short stories since childhood, all with a “twist” at the end.
In Beyond the Darkness, Annie Woods lives a peaceful existence in the northern woods of Minnesota until the day she discovers her husband’s body on a forest trail surrounding their home. Deemed natural by authorities, Annie begins to have her doubts after witnessing strange occurrences in a field adjacent to her acreage.
Beyond the Darkness tells the tale of an idyllic town threatened by dangers that may lurk behind the friendly faces of neighbors or from within one’s own psyche.
The book can be purchased by visiting the websites www.amazon.com or www.itascabooks.com; by calling 1-800-901-3480; or by e-mailing her at rebeccadiana@comcast.net.
