Y offers fun way to ring in, celebrate new year

The Alexandria Area YMCA invites non-members, guests, and YMCA members to celebrate New Year’s Day at the Y for free.

The Alexandria Area YMCA invites non-members, guests, and YMCA members to celebrate New Year’s Day at the Y for free.

Fun, family activities will be offered in the gym, and the aquatic center will be open all day.

Free, “try-it” group exercise classes will also be held.

The Y will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, New Year's Day to the entire community. Admittance to the YMCA is free, permitting members and guests provide one item, per person, to donate to the Alexandria Outreach Food Shelf.

Family Night at the Y

Families of all ages are also invited to enjoy time together at the Y on Friday, December 31 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Fun, family activities will be offered in the gym, and the aquatic center will be open all evening.

New Year's Eve Family Night is free to YMCA members, YMCA child care families and YMCA corporate partners. The cost is $15 for non-members and guest families.

Drop the kids off at the Y on New Year's Eve for a YMCA youth overnight.

YMCA staff will supervise and lead kids through games and activities going on all night until the lights go out at 12:30 a.m.

New Year's Eve pizza and a morning snack will be provided. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow and a set of extra clothing.

The YMCA youth overnight is from Friday, December 31, at 9 p.m. to Saturday, January 1, at 8 a.m. Cost is $25 for YMCA members, and $35 for non-members and YMCA guests.
