Card Nordic skiing: Alexandria second, fourth at Willmar
The Cardinal Nordic ski teams put together one of their best finishes of the season at the Willmar Invite last Tuesday.
The Cardinal Nordic ski teams put together one of their best finishes of the season at the Willmar Invite last Tuesday.
The Alexandria boys finished second as a team, while the girls took fourth. The Cardinal boys had three top-10 individual finishes. Jimmy Lovrien paved the way, finishing sixth overall in a time of 19:09 on the 5K course. Tyler Johnson was right behind him in seventh (19:22), while Todd Johnson was ninth (20:15). Cody Call also raced varsity for Alex, finishing 12th in a time of 20:37.
The girls were led by Julia Sieling’s third-place individual finish. She completed the 5K course in 21:51. Melissa Gromatka was seventh (22:41), Leah Stinson finished in 14th place (25:01) and Katie Lovrien was 21st (26:17).
