Award winning public radio host and food author Lynne Rossetto Kasper will headline the Minnesota Organic Conference in St. Cloud on Friday night, January 14, in a talk that is free and open to the public.
Kasper co-created and now hosts American Public Media's nationally syndicated radio show, The Splendid Table, which has won more than 10 awards as best national radio food show. In addition, she is the only author to win both the James Beard and Julia Child Cookbook of the Year awards.
Kasper will talk about how the public’s interest in food—and in how it is grown or raised—has changed during her tenure hosting the radio program. She’ll also comment on what she thinks the public’s growing interest means for farmers. Following her talk, she will sign and sell (cash or check only; no credit cards) copies of her books.
Doors open at 6:30 and Kasper’s talk begins at 7:30. There is no reserved seating. Early comers are welcome to visit the trade show held in conjunction with the Minnesota Organic Conference.
The Minnesota Organic Conference runs from Friday morning, January 14 to Saturday afternoon, January 15 at the St. Cloud Civic Center. This farmer-focused event offers educational sessions about organic topics including soil health, weed management, grain and vegetable production, dairy farming, marketing, and regulatory issues. Organizers expect 400-500 people to attend. Full conference schedule, cost, and registration information are available at www.mda.state.mn.us/organic
