They’re billed as the greatest basketball handling kids in the world.

They showed their skills again at halftime of a recent boys’ basketball game when Minnewaska hosted Morris.

The Alexandria Aces wowed the crowd with all kinds of amazing acrobatic tricks and maneuvers.

Now in its 20th year, the Alexandria Aces initially began as a basketball-handling club. The team has since progressed into one of the top half-time acts in the NBA.

The Aces are?coached by Larry Novotny, former basketball trick artist who performed his basketball magic across much of the U.S. in the 1970s and 1980s.

The Aces are comprised of boys and girls, ages 5-12. Their show, which includes spectacular dribbling, juggling, and amazing spinning feats, has been seen by more than one million fans across the United States and Canada.

They’ve been featured at halftimes of high school, CBA, NCAA, Final Four, and NBA basketball games and have been seen on ESPN, Fox Sports and other major networks.

The Aces have several prominent appearances coming up on their schedule, including:

• December 29 – Dr. Pepper Classic in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

• December 30 – Tennessee vs. Rutgers (women), SEC TV.

• December 31 – Tennessee vs. College of Charleston (men), ESPN2.

• January 5 – Minnesota vs. Iowa (women), Big 10 rivalry.

• January 7 – Timberwolves vs. Portland, NBA, Fox Sports North.

• January 13 – Minnesota vs. Purdue (men), Big 10 rivalry, ESPN.

Despite the big-time venues they play in, the Alexandria Aces always set aside time to perform in front of local fans.

The team has three upcoming local performances set – February 11 – Eagle Valley vs. Osakis girls’ basketball; February 12 – Alexandria vs. Bemidji boys’ basketball; and February 15 – Alexandria vs. Rocori girls’ basketball.
