UPDATE 2 P.M. Snow closes some schools in area

Several schools in the Douglas County are closed or will be closing because of bad weather.

West Central Area School and Minnewaska Schools are both closed.

Brandon and Evansville schools will both be closing at 1:15 p.m. No after-school events will be held.

Osakis and Parkers Prairie secondary schools will close at 2 p.m.

In Alexandria, all practices at Jefferson High School and Discovery Middle School are cancelled.

Snow is falling throughout the region and Douglas County is in a winter storm warning until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Douglas County is included in an area that could receive four to six inches of snow accompanied with winds gusting up to 25 miles per hour.
