Letter - Remember real Christmas story

To the editor:

After a church Christmas program, my friend told me she had taken her son to see Santa and her son tried to hide from Santa. She asked, “Don’t you want to ask Santa for a present?” He said, “No, Santa has a naughty list and my name is on it.”

So I knelt down to him and said, “If you tell Jesus you are sorry for all the naughty things you have done, Jesus will erase them and you can ask for a present.” That’s the Christmas story. Ask God to make you nice. God came to Earth to go to the cross to pay the price owed for our sins, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and deliver us from evil. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
