Vickie O’Brien, RN, MS, of Alexandria, portrayed a Somali mother with an ailing newborn in the Central Lakes College (CLC) hospital simulation exercise in a Brainerd campus nursing lab. Nearly 100 associate degree (AD) and practical nursing students at the college were evaluated on their scope-of-practice response to various patient conditions in the semi-annual project. O’Brien is an AD nursing instructor at CLC.
