Swedberg in PGA Tour Qualifying School tournament
Alexandria’s Brett Swedberg finished in a tie for 112th after starting the final stage of the tournament at 117th during the 2010 PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament. The former Cardinal golfer carded a 432 total.
The Q-school final stage – round 6 – was played at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge and featured a total of 166 players, who played the final six rounds with no cuts.
A total of 1,389 players sent in applications to participate in the tournament, with six pre-qualifiers, along with 13 first- and six second-stage regionals were held to reduce the field.
The top 25 players and ties received PGA Tour cards for 2011 and the next nearest-number-to-50 earned fully exempt Nationwide Tour cards for the first 10 events on the schedule.
The remainder of the field received conditional Nationwide Tour status.
