Recount under way for Osakis school board position

A recount of an Osakis School Board seat showed just one vote change in Douglas County Monday.
Monica Klimek picked up one additional vote, bringing her total in Douglas County to 372 while the vote total for Aimee Goodwin was unchanged at 343.
Vicki Doehling, Douglas County elections administrator, explained that an oval on one of the recounted ballots was faintly filled in for Klimek and was too light for the voting machine to tabulate.
Votes must still be counted in Todd County, which is also part of School District 213.
Klimek and Goodwin tied for the third school board seat with 591 votes in the November 2 election.
They drew cards to break the tie and Goodwin won. Both of them, however, had previously agreed that whomever drew the lowest card would request a recount.
Others elected to the board were Tom Grundman with 745 votes and Steve Hilde with 646.
