Reuben was born September 23, 1921 in Holmes City Township to Leonard and Sophy (Christopher) Ringdahl. He was baptized at Oscar Lake Lutheran Church on April 3, 1923. Reuben attended District #29 grade school in Holmes City.
Reuben served his country during World War II and was stationed over in Japan. He was honorably discharged on October 18, 1946. After serving his country, Reuben returned to Minnesota where he and his brothers farmed. In the 1960s, Reuben and his brother, Art, did some work for the railroad in North Dakota.
Reuben and his brothers had a band and played for barn dances and town dances. He also enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and was a true Twins fan.
He is survived by his niece, LaVelle (Orlin) Blade of Holmes City; four great-nieces and nephew, Annette Blade of Hawley, Pam (Larry) Buttke of Sioux Falls, SD, Debbie (Tony) Johnson of Alexandria, and Brad (Allison) Rutten of Sartell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Sophy; six brothers, Raymond (Hazel), Clifford, Albert, Theodore, Arthur and Victor; sister, Minnie; and nephew, DelRay Ringdahl.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 12 at Oscar Lake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Denise Croskey officiating.
Pallbearers were David Fahlin, Tom Rensink, Darrin Weisel, Lloyd Flaaten, Nash Anderson and Wayne Anderson. Burial was at Oscar Lake Cemetery in Farwell Township.
