Family film event set in Evansville
On Sunday, November 21 the youth groups of Calvary Covenant and Faith Lutheran in Evansville will sponsor a family film afternoon.
On Sunday, November 21 the youth groups of Calvary Covenant and Faith Lutheran in Evansville will sponsor a family film afternoon at Calvary Covenant Church, 404 Meeker Street in Evansville. The Homecoming, which was the pilot episode for the CBS series The Waltons, will be shown at 3 p.m.
Set in the Blue Ridge mountains on Christmas Eve in 1933, The Homecoming tells the story of a Depression-era family waiting for the return of their father from his job in the city. Times are hard but the tug of home is strong.
There is no charge for the event.
