Salvation Army needs volunteer bell ringers starting November 21. Call Roger at (320) 760-1519 to ring at Walmart, call Art at (320) 763-5089 to ring at the Viking Plaza or Dave at (320) 760-1323 to ring at K-mart.
Elder Network needs:
• Peer support volunteers to meet with older adults in their homes weekly to provide support due to life changes, loss, loneliness or emotional concern and to aid in restoring renewed confidence, vitality and self-esteem.
• Respite program volunteers to allow a caregiver to take a break from their duties by spending one to four hours per week providing companionship and conversation to a care receiver.

Alexandria Literacy Project needs adult literacy tutors. The next volunteer orientation session will be held Tuesday, January 25 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. The 10-hour Basic Literacy Tutor Training Workshop will be held from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. on February 8 and 15. Call Sandy at (320) 762-3312.

WINGS: needs childcare volunteers who enjoy being around kids ages newborn to 11 and have the characteristics of being good role models to help with snacks and activities at the Transitional Housing complex. Hours vary with an average of two hours per week, depending on needs of families. Call (320) 763-6638.
Catholic Charities is looking for men and women, ages 55 and older who would be interested in volunteering in schools with children in the Alexandria school district.
