DETROIT LAKES, Minn.— Motorists on Highway 28 east of Starbuck can expect delays beginning Wednesday, Nov. 17, when a culvert replacement project begins. The project start date may be modified depending on weather conditions and the availability of materials.
Traffic will be detoured north of Highway 28 using Highway 114 and Pope County Road 24, while crews replace a culvert east of Old Highway 28.
The project is scheduled to take approximately one week, weather permitting. The new culvert will improve safety on Highway 28 by addressing the eroding soil and material at that location.
During construction and road maintenance work, The Minnesota Department of Transportation urges drivers to:
--Check www.511mn.org or call 5-1-1 for up-to-date information about traffic and road conditions.
--Stay alert, expect the unexpected.
--Never enter a road that has been blocked with barriers or cones.
