Mixed Blood Theatre will present Theory of Mind on Wednesday, November 3 at 7 p.m. at the Alexandria Technical and Community College (ATCC) Information and Technology Building.
Theory of Mind is about Bill, a college-bound 17-year-old. Bill is equipped with scholastic brilliance but low emotional intelligence; keen self-awareness, yet an inability to read social cues; he has a charming directness yet he is prone to taking everything he hears literally.
In this sensitive, yet unsentimental portrait of a young man with Asperger’s syndrome, Bill’s outing with a young woman becomes a memorable, insightful look at the tugs, shifts and about-faces found on the autism spectrum.
Mixed Blood Theatre has been inviting the global village into its audience since 1976. With programming in its historic firehouse in Minneapolis, regional tours, and customized productions addressing workplace inclusion, Mixed Blood, winner of numerous awards for its human rights and artistic accomplishments, uses relevant and entertaining theater to spawn a ripple effect of social change.
The Theory of Mind production is sponsored by the ATCC and the Diversity Resource Action Alliance. It is free and open to the public.
