Letter - Follow the yellow brick road

As the curtain fell for the last time on October 10 on the Alexandria Area Arts Association’s production of The Wizard of Oz, I thought how very fortunate we are to have a community-based theater in Alexandria, giving us a variety of talent for all to enjoy yearlong.

To the editor:

As the curtain fell for the last time on October 10 on the Alexandria Area Arts Association’s production of The Wizard of Oz, I thought how very fortunate we are to have a community-based theater in Alexandria, giving us a variety of talent for all to enjoy yearlong.

The Wizard of Oz was a huge undertaking: Royalties to be paid, so many people involved, volunteers who gave willingly of their time only for the total pride and satisfaction of watching it all come together as the curtain was raised for the first time on opening night.

Then we have our actors. We can only express our gratitude by saying thank you to all of you for your commitment, the countless hours of work and professional dedication so we as an audience may sit back in total enjoyment.

Finally, to our graduating seniors who have graced our stage so many times, remember to follow your yellow brick road – never losing sight of your hopes and dreams as you pursue your acting careers. I applaud you all!
