Strong winds set off sirens but there is no danger

The stormy weather conditions this evening are causing malfunctions to the emergency siren system in Alexandria.

The stormy weather conditions this evening are causing malfunctions to the emergency siren system in Alexandria.

Strong winds are causing the sirens to keep going off but there is no immediate danger, tornado or emergency situation at this time. The Douglas County area is under a high wind advisory and there have been reports of downed trees and power outages.

Emergency personnel are working on fixing the siren glitch and they want to assure residents who are hearing sirens there is no immediate danger.
