Paid Political Letter - Lee Byberg is sincere and professional

To the editor:

We need to elect Lee Byberg to replace Collin Peterson as our congressman. Lee is a sincere, professional businessman who will not cast his votes on critical issues with the next election in mind.

Our current congressman is losing touch with his constituents. He calls himself a blue dog Democrat who votes with the conservatives in Congress. But he rides the fence and votes whichever way benefits him in the next election, except if Nancy Pelosi needs him to pass controversial legislation. We hear conflicting reports as to whether Collin voted for the Cap and Trade legislation. The proof is in the “American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009, H.R. 2454.” He voted for it; the bill passed from the House to the Senate.

At a local forum, Collin stated he voted for the bill because he didn’t think it would pass the Senate anyway. If the Democrats retain control, there will be a Senate vote. He also stated that he voted for it so that the author of Cap and Trade would accept his “stuff” on agriculture.

It’s time to elect someone who respects the citizens of the 7th District. Lee Byberg is that person.
