Paid Political Letter - Hunter is a thoughtful, considerate woman

Those circulating negative literature on Amy Hunter may have shot themselves in the foot.

To the editor:

Those circulating negative literature on Amy Hunter may have shot themselves in the foot. They do not understand central Minnesotans. We like to see ourselves as positive thinkers who gather actual facts before we decide.

In case you have not met Amy personally, let me try to set the record straight. Amy is a thoughtful, considerate woman who cares about our rural lives. She is forthright in stating her opinion, but then respects and considers the opinions of others.

After a decision is made, she is willing to work extremely hard to reach the agreed-upon goals. To that end, she will work on details and work behind the scenes. Her decisions are not impulsive, but are reached after studying all the available facts and thoroughly evaluating the predictable consequences.

Amy has a real interest in young people, evidenced by her career and many appointments on community boards and state committees. She was voted Eagle Bend Teacher of the Year, the Secondary Vocational Director of the Year and the Staples Community Foundation Citizen of the Year.

Whoever wrote these scurrilous ads better take their efforts elsewhere. We in central Minnesota gather information and actually think before we vote.
