Paid Political Letter - Kakac can bring fresh, honest change

Douglas County is on the verge of taking a large step into an uncertain future.

To the editor:

Douglas County is on the verge of taking a large step into an uncertain future. As the availability of funds constantly shrinks and the need for increasingly compact government becomes more necessary, we must elect county commissioners who will face these challenges head-on.

Arlan Kakac is the commissioner we need to represent District 4. He believes we need to operate our county just as we must operate our families and that is by living within our means. He is listening to voters’ concerns about protecting wetlands, renewing infrastructures, combining services, lowering expenditures and coordinating administration positions; all in an effort to hold down costs.

He plans to address centralizing services, outsourcing possibilities, county vehicle uses, and future county health plans. Arlan is very conservation conscious and intends to closely monitor future county growth while protecting the ecology and ecosystems at the same time.

Many voters are clamoring for change in this election, but change needs to be for improvement. Your vote for Arlan Kakac for Douglas County District 4 commissioner is a vote for a fresh, honest change for the citizens of Douglas County.
