Card volleyball: Alexandria tops Storm

The Cardinal volleyball team rolled over another Central Lakes Conference opponent last Thursday night with a clean sweep over Sauk Rapids-Rice.

Alexandria came out ready to go on senior night and never looked back after a 25-10 win in the first set. The Cardinals responded with a 25-15 win in the second and a 25-22 victory to put the Storm away in the third.

Sam Trumm had another big night at the net. She finished with 18 kills. Amanda Christianson had seven, while Brianna Johnson finished with six. Allie Noetzelman and Quinn Kragenbring shared the setting duties with 19 and 14 assists, respectively.

“Overall, this was a very well-rounded performance for our team,” head coach Becky Schlichting said. “Our passing again continued to improve from the previous night’s match, which allows our offense to do many more things.”
