Jo-Ann Fabric celebrates grand opening at new Alexandria location

Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores is celebrating four grand openings this week – including one at its new location at the Viking Plaza Mall in Alexandria.

“The renewed popularity of handcrafted items has sparked consumers’ interest in sewing and crafting. We are pleased to meet this growing demand as we open these new stores,” said Darrell Webb, chairman and CEO for Jo-Ann Stores, Inc.

Grand opening festivities will run through Saturday, October 16, with doors opening at 9 a.m. each day.

Activities include gift card giveaways, special discounts, a Teacher Appreciation Day on Saturday (teachers receive discounts off their total purchase and a ?free tote bag), while supplies last, free creative demonstrations, classes, and a “Make It – Take It” opportunity for children to make a quick and easy craft to take home from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday (while supplies last).

Other grand openings will take place in Brainerd, Chattanooga, Tennessee and Bend, Oregon.
