Rentschler among top marksmen at world shoot
Alexandria’s Andrew Rentschler proved himself as one of the best shooters in the country recently when he traveled to Sparta, Illinois to take part in the 2010 World Trapshooting Championships.
Alexandria’s Andrew Rentschler proved himself as one of the best shooters in the country recently when he traveled to Sparta, Illinois to take part in the 2010 World Trapshooting Championships.
Rentschler competed in the 2010 Grand American competition, where he brought home a third-place award for his class in the Clay Target Championship. He shot 197 out of 200 targets to put him in a tie with eight other Class B competitors. Rentschler stepped up in a pressure-packed shootout to cement his third-place finish. He busted all 50 of his targets.
That was just the beginning of a big weekend for Rentschler. He went on to win another third-place finish in the Sub-Junior Division in the Blaser Handicap competition where he busted 95 of 100 targets. Rentschler then went on to take first place in the Sub-Junior Division of the Kolar Arms Handicaps competition where he powdered 96 of 100 targets.
