Funeral set for New London soldier killed in Afghanistan
The funeral for Army Pfc. Ryane G. Clark, 22, of New London, will be at 2 p.m. October 17 at the New London-Spicer (NLS) High School gymnasium.

The visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. October 16, also at the high school. Arrangements are with Johnson Funeral Home of New London.
Clark graduated from the Alexandria Technical and Community College’s law enforcement program in May of 2009.
He died last Monday while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. According to the Department of Defense, he died in Shekhabad, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades.
Clark was assigned to the 27th Combat Engineer Battalion (Airborne), 20th Combat Engineer Brigade, Fort Bragg, N.C.
He graduated in 2007 from New London-Spicer High School, where he was on the wrestling team. He was remembered Friday night when the NLS Wildcats met Milaca at the school football field.
