National VFW Auxiliary leader to visit Alexandria
The 2010-2011 National President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Cortina Barnes of Washington, D.C. will make her official visit to Minnesota October 17 and 18.
The 2010-2011 National President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Cortina Barnes of Washington, D.C. will make her official visit to Minnesota October 17 and 18.
Barnes’ theme for her year is “United by Love for Our Veterans and Country” as she leads the approximate 550,000 members of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Veterans, organization members and community leaders are encouraged to meet and greet Barnes as she visits Minnesota’s VFW Districts 5, 6 and 9 during her short stay.
Barnes will travel with Department of Minnesota President Kathleen Baudrau of Alexandria and her entourage of line officers.
The VFW Auxiliary delegation will meet Sunday, October 17 at approximately 6 p.m. at Lake Geneva Christian Center in Alexandria in anticipation of a hot air balloon ride on POW*MIA Honor Flight.
On Monday, October 18, the entourage will visit VFW Post 1112 in Little Falls; VFW Post 4020 (ITOW veterans museum) in Perham; and then travel to the Fergus Falls Veterans Home, returning to Alexandria Monday evening for a banquet at Fort Chippewa Post 936.
