Letter - We didn't leave the ELCA, it abandoned us

To the editor:

Reply to Bishop Chillstrom: All have sinned. Every human was created with free will. We can choose to cater to our sinful inclinations or live a life honoring God’s perfect will. We have the privilege of choice, but we cannot choose the consequence. “The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life.”

An infant’s selfish demands for instant gratification are expressed in impatient crying. Our loving God can provide patience and amazing grace as we mature.

Christ came into the world to save sinners. Is your nature sexual perversion, greed, pride, dishonesty, gluttony, craving for power, vanity, covetousness, anger or rebellion against God’s laws? Christ loved us so much that he died to redeem us and free us from bondage to sin. God loves us just the way we are, but he loves us too much to let us stay this way. He is the provider of amazing grace. Instead of preaching this good news, the ELCA condones defiance of God’s perfect plan for sex and marriage. Some claim that homosexuals are born that way. That is a lie. God doesn’t make junk.

We did not leave the ELCA, the ELCA abandoned us. God designed sex for our enjoyment. He even invented orgasms for the pleasure of genuine lovers. He rewards the Godly wisdom of resisting the temptations of the devil by remaining virgins until our wedding day. Patiently wait and pray that your loving heavenly father will guide you to a Christian life partner who will become your soul mate.

We are not against homosexuals. We love them and welcome their friendship. We disapprove of their lifestyle. We know of homosexuals who have escaped from the horrible bondage and pray that thousands more will embrace amazing grace.
