Card volleyball team takes on Rocori in key CLC matchup
If ever there was a dominant team in a conference, it would have to be the Alexandria Cardinal volleyball squad.
The Cards' history in the Central Lakes Conference is nothing short of spectacular, having won or shared the title in 24 of the 33 years that the CLC has been in existence, including a string of 16 straight from 1987 to 2002.
Tonight’s game at home with Rocori will pit the Cardinals against Class AA’s No. 9 ranked team.
The Spartans are 16-1 this year, having won their last 12 in a row, including tournament play. Their last loss was to Buffalo on September second in a marathon five-set match.
Both teams come into tonight’s match undefeated in conference play and tonight’s match, in essence, is for the CLC title.
Action tonight begins at 7 p.m.
CARDINAL NATION NIGHT
Tonight’s game against Rocori has been designated “Cardinal Nation” night. Those who wear their Cardinal Nation T-shirt to the game will receive a free box of popcorn.
