Concert celebrates writers' conference in Sauk Centre

The Sinclair Lewis Writers Conference celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special celebration of music and poetry.

The Sinclair Lewis Writers Conference celebrates its 20th anniversary with a special celebration of music and poetry.

It’s set for Friday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Sauk Centre High School Auditorium (903 State Road) in Sauk Centre, the birthplace of Nobel Prize winning writer Sinclair Lewis.

It will feature performances by noted Minnesota poets Robert Bly and Freya Manfred and musical performances by critically acclaimed songwriters John Gorka, Meg Hutchinson, Mother Banjo and John Hermanson (Storyhill, The Hopefuls, Alva Star).

The event will be hosted by radio personality Dale Connelly. Tickets are $10 at the door and available to the public.

This Friday anniversary concert will kick off the annual Sinclair Lewis Writer’s Conference that will be held on Saturday, October 9 at the Sauk Centre High School (see related story).
