A Gubernatorial Candidates Forum will take place at the Alexandria Technical and Community College in Room 743 (Information and Technology Building) on Monday, October 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Gubernatorial candidates Tom Horner, Tom Emmer and Mark Dayton have been invited to participate in this event to speak to the voters of west central Minnesota. They’ll address questions relating to business, education, and local community support as well as statewide issues.
Event attendance for the public will be free of charge with meeting room admittance being on a first-come basis with the first 200 people being admitted (restricted due to room capacity level).
Doors to the meeting room will open at 5:45 p.m. for the event. Parking for this event will be in the ATCC south lot (near the incinerator on Jefferson Street) and west lot (near the corner of Jefferson Street and 17th Avenue).
The forum will include pre-selected questions being asked of all candidates by a panel of three community leaders from 6 to 8 p.m. Event attendees will not have the opportunity to present questions to the candidates during the forum, but will have access to each candidate following the event in post-event meeting rooms.
This event is being organized by the Alexandria Area Economic Development Commission (AAEDC), and Alexandria Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and hosted by the Alexandria Technical and Community College for the sole purpose of encouraging voter education and interaction with these three gubernatorial candidates.
Contact the AAEDC with any questions or concerns about the event by calling (320) 763-4545.
