The United Way of Pope and Douglas Counties is gearing up for its annual Chili Cook-off.
This year’s event, which has the theme “Ole and Lena’s Chili,” will take place Tuesday, September 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Broadway Ballroom.
“We’re looking forward to a fun theme this year, bringing in all kinds of opportunities for the booth decorating competition,” said Cindy Zacher, this year’s event chair.
Individuals, businesses and organizations are encouraged to register their favorite chili in the competition.
A silent auction will also take place during the event.
Chili makers interested in entering their chili or anyone wanting to donate a silent auction item can do so by contacting Corliss Stark at the United Way at (320) 763-4840.
Entry forms are also available online at www.uwdp.org.
As the event gets closer, there will be more information available.
