UPDATE: 77-year-old driver dies after head-on crash near Parkers Prairie

Lucille Vogt, 77, of Parkers Prairie died after a head-on crash just south of Parkers Prairie Wednesday morning.

Lucille Vogt, 77, of Parkers Prairie died after a head-on crash just south of Parkers Prairie Wednesday morning.

She was driving a 2003 Ford Taurus north on Highway 29 at about 8:30 a.m. when she was struck by a 1998 Cavalier that crossed the centerline, according to the State Patrol.

Vogt was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The 18-year-old driver of the Cavalier, Kayla Carry of Browerville, was seriously injured. The Life Link III air ambulance in Alexandria was called to the scene and transported Carry to the St. Cloud Hospital.

Carry’s condition, initially listed as critical, was upgraded to fair as of Thursday morning.

The Parkers Prairie Fire Department was called to the scene to extricate the victims. North Ambulance and the sheriff’s offices from Douglas and Otter Tail County also responded.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, according to the State Patrol.
