Letter - Non-compliance rules raise questions
Recently, a friend of mine (we’ll call him Bob) received a letter from the city of Alexandria explaining to him that he is in “non-compliance,” because he has cars sitting around.
To the editor:
Recently, a friend of mine (we’ll call him Bob) received a letter from the city of Alexandria explaining to him that he is in “non-compliance,” because he has cars sitting around. Sure, there are cars sitting around – he owns a small auto repair shop. There was even a car there for sale – mine.
Never mind that the city has ditches and land with weeds and uncut grass. Did I mention that other people have cars sitting around?
Maybe they are picking on him because he didn’t get tax increment financing, or maybe he doesn’t have a million dollar building; I don’t know. I do know he employs people, pays taxes (a lot), provides a valuable service, etc.
Maybe you could stop at B&J Auto and ask him yourself.
