Class takes fear out of public speaking

The Alexandria Technical and Community College Customized Training Department is offering a class entitled “Scared Speechless – How to Overcome the Fear of Public Speaking.”

This six-hour class will be conducted on October 7 and 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Alexandria Technical and Community College.

Most public speaking courses preach to the converted. They are designed to assist those already interested in speaking in front of others, according to class organizers.

But what about those who would rather die than talk in front of others? This class is designed to help people learn to overcome their fear of speaking in public in a safe, supportive and fun environment.
