A fire Friday destroyed a barn and more at the Timothy Michael Anderson residence near Evansville.

At approximately 3 p.m., the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a structure fire at Anderson’s residence, located at 17567 County Road 1 NW.

According to the sheriff’s report, the Evansville, Ashby and Millerville fire departments were called out to the scene.

The fire was contained within a short period of time, but the barn was a total loss.

It appears the fire started at the barn and rapidly went across the yard because of the strong winds. The windy conditions also started a couple of smaller fires in different locations at the residence, noted authorities.

Besides the barn, there were several items lost due to the fires, including a Honda four-wheeler, a Honda three-wheeler, a couple of old wagons and a few tires, just to name a few.

The barn had no livestock and was used as storage only, according to the report.
