Museums to host United Way benefit

The Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum and the Runestone Museum will host a benefit for United Way charities next Friday.

The event is set for September 3 from 6 p.m. until sundown.

It will take place at the Maritime Gardens, which is located just north of the Maritime Museum building.

Both museums would like to invite the community to mingle, walk the future garden space and enjoy free hot dogs and refreshments.

Live music will be performed by a local band, 3rd Shift.

The event is free but donations are encouraged to benefit the United Way of Douglas and Pope Counties.

Bring your own lawn chair and join friends for a good time for a great cause.
