Special Olympics team cleans up at state
Alexandrians earned 17 gold medals at the bocce tournament
Alexandria Special Olympic bocce players brought home 17 golds, six silvers, three bronze and four fourth place ribbons from the state competition held last weekend in Maple Grove.
Earning gold medals were Nicole Anderson, Sarah Decker, Darwin Delles, Torii Erickson, Ryan Frick, Anne Friederichs, Mary Fuelling, Faith Kemp, Daniel Madson, Amanda Nelson, Casey Ohren, Corrie Petersen, Christy Stricker, Maude Swanson, Dylan Dimm, James Wood and Tammy Zarbok.
Silver medals went to Kathleen Anderson, Lindsey Gruber, Ilesha Mercer, Steven Nye, Travis Schmidt and Mitchell Schultz.
Receiving bronze medals were Heather Boisclair, Natasha Randall and Charles Stoltz, while earning fourth place ribbons were Daniel Andrist, Alyscia Braun, Heidi Goodin and Matthew Shauer.
Frick and Anderson also brought home a gold medal in doubles competition.
