Pohligs win national water ski medals

Former Alexandrians Holly and Jeff Pohlig, now of Apopka, Florida, competed in the recent National Water Ski Championships near Joliet, Illinois, capping off a successful season by winning national medals. Jeff finished second in the jump skiing competition with a distance of 175 feet, just six feet short of the championship distance, and was 10th in nationals in the Men's II trick. Earlier in the season, he finished first in both the Florida State and Southern Regional Championships in jump, while in trick, he was second in the Florida State competition and first in the Southern Regionals. Holly was fifth in the women's II_trick skiing at the national event after finishing second in both the Florida State Championships and the Southern Regionals.
