The Ashby Babe Ruth baseball team fell to Pearl Lake 16-0 in their opening round of the 13-15-year-old Intact Babe Ruth State Tournament in Fergus Falls recently.
J.P. Moe pitched three of the five-inning game for Ashby, with Reed Hanson finishing up.
Allard LaRue cracked a double and Reed Hanson a single for the only hits for Ashby.
They were eliminated from play on Friday when they fell to Hawley 12-1.
The first three innings were pitched by Dylan Berry, with Blake Ohren coming on in relief for the final four frames.
Tanner Langlie drove in LaRue for Ashby’s lone run of the game. Moe, Hanson, Ohren and Zach Barry had the other Ashby hits.
