Three suspects were arrested in Alexandria Thursday on felony charges involving assault and property damage that authorities believe are connected to gang activity.
The Alexandria Police Department, with assistance from the Douglas County SWAT Team and Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at the residence of 413 11th Avenue in Alexandria on August 12.
The investigation led to the arrests of two Alexandria 18-year-olds – Samuel Morrow and Christopher Cronquist.
They both are being held on felony assault and felony criminal damage to property.
Also arrested was a 16-year-old male of Alexandria who is also being held on felony level charges of assault and criminal damage to property.
Items recovered from the search warrant included drug paraphernalia, a weapon involved in a felony assault, and possible stolen property and evidence linking these three and others to gang activity and affiliation, according to the police department.
Police say the three arrested are members of a gang called “OVR” and have been linked to several criminal cases involving burglaries, criminal damage to property, vandalism, assaults, thefts, and drug crimes that are still under investigation.
The Alexandria Police Department is still pursuing other members of the OVR for questioning and expect to make more arrests in the future.
