Only one champion repeats at Resorters Golf Tournament

Chaska’s Jon Empanger was the only repeat champion during the 89th annual Resorters Golf Tournament last week at the Alexandria Golf Club. Six other divisions, including the newest Junior 10-12 Division, all saw new faces enter the winner’s circle.

Nearly 300 golfers competed in the seven divisions this year, and faced a little of everything when it came to weather - rain, cold, humidity and blistering heat. But it all came down to 14 players Saturday afternoon, with Don Constable winning the Men’s Regular Division, Jon Freeman the Executive Men’s Division, Empanger the Senior Men’s Division, George Mikesh the Masters’ Division, Sarah Roering the Women’s Division, Matthew Bennett the Junior 13-15 Division and Lincoln Johnson the Junior 10-12 Division.
