United Way reorganizes board of directors

United Way Of Douglas and Pope Counties recently welcomed four new board members and said thank you to five retiring board members.

Past and present United Way board members met on Tuesday, July 20 for 2010-2011 strategic planning.

David Kent, current president, and the United Way board of directors welcomed new members Shawn Green, ITW Heartland; Peter Nelson, Glenwood State Bank; Eddie Reif, State Bank and Trust; and Mike Scarborough, State Farm Insurance.

The United Way Board thanked the following board members who are retiring from the board: Susan Boerhave, Viking Savings Bank; David Gray, Douglas County Hospital; Terry Kennedy, retired surgeon; Don Kleine, American Foods Group; and Sheila Marciniak, First State Bank.
