Barbary Coast to perform

The Barbary Coast Dixieland Band will perform on Saturday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Chapel.

The Barbary Coast Dixieland Band will perform on Saturday, August 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mount Carmel Chapel, just off County Road 11. Tickets are $10 at the door.

The band will also play at the 9 and 11 a.m. church services Sunday, August 8 at Mount Carmel.

The Barbary Coast Dixieland Band has been together since 1967. The band is comprised of six musicians who play 18 instruments including Dick Petersen, banjo/guitar; Tom Andrews, drums, clarinet and vocals; Jim ten Bensel, trombone, cornet, drums and vocals; Russ Peterson, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, clarinet, flute, bass and vocals; Steve Pikal, bass, trombone and piano; and Dick Ramberg, piano and clarinet.

The band was elected to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame in 2001.
