LRHC tops Alex horseshoe League

Team LRHC, consisting of Alan and Janet Larson, finished as the regular season champions of the Alexandria Horseshoe League after the season finale on July 21.

The Larson’s beat Ray Kraemer and Brian Hoppe of Hensley Inc. 8-0 that night to put the finishing touches on the championship. Alan and Janet were both the top pitchers of the week with 92 and 83 ringers, respectively. They finished the regular season with 86 points in the standings.

The Garden Center team of Bob Olson and Ralph Losee took second during the regular season. They finished with 77 points, while Haines Gipson, consisting of Al and Joe Nicholson, rounded out the top three with 71 points.

Members of the Alex Horseshoe League will now turn their attention to the postseason. The Class C, D and E singles tournaments will be held August 4 with the Class A and B singles tournaments taking place on August 11 at Legion Park Courts.

The double elimination team tournament will start August 18 at the Legion Courts with the annual Make-A-Wish supper beginning at 6 p.m.
