Letter - Trapshooters are great guests

To the editor:

The Alexandria trapshooting range again just played host to the Minnesota Trapshooting Association State Contest for this year.

The Schmidt family asked Connie Lee to sing our national anthem for their organization one morning. The trapshooters were truly so nice, appreciative and just plain fun that Connie returned two mornings later and repeated her performance.

As proud residents of Alexandria, we wish that everyone in town could make a stop out there at next year’s contest. The event isn’t only for the shooting enthusiasts, there are additional vendors, wonderful food and that great genuine Schmidt family hospitality.

For an entire week, this event brings to our community several thousand of some of the Upper Midwest’s nicest people.

Truly, the city of Alexandria is just blessed to have these guests visit our community year after year.
