Annual charity softball game set for August 2

The Alexandria Fire Department and Douglas County Law Enforcement charity softball game has been set.

The Alexandria Fire Department and Douglas County Law Enforcement charity softball game has been set.

The charity game will take place on Monday, August 2 at the Knute Nelson Ball Field. The game starts at 5 p.m.

The gates will open at 4 p.m. with food and drink specials, the fire department’s bounce house, fire truck and squads on display, Ringo, the radar pitch machine and sign-up for raffle prizes will begin.

The game will feature the Alexandria Fire Department playing against Douglas County Law Enforcement officials.

Tickets are $2 each. However, youth can get in free by wearing their local sporting team T-shirt or D.A.R.E. T-shirt.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at either the Alexandria Fire Hall or the Douglas County Law Enforcement Center.

A ticket purchased for the charity baseball game also works as admission for the Alexandria Beetles baseball game against the Duluth Huskies, set to take place that evening.

Proceeds from the charity baseball game are donated to the Alexandria Area Special Olympics and the Windmill Project.
