Special Olympics bocce team heading to state

Members of the Alexandria Area Special Olympics bocce ball team celebrated their victories as all earned berths in the State competion after competing in the area competition at Perham July 14. The state event is August 21 in Maple Grove. Members of the team included (in dark shirts), left to right, Darwin Delles, Maud Swanson, Sarah Decker, Casey Ohren, Anne Friedrichs and Amanda Nelson, who were joined by a competitor from another team (white shirt) who helped them cheer. Along with the above athletes, the other team members advancing include Heidi Goodin, Ilesha Mercer, Mitch Schulz, Travis Schmidt, Steve Nye, Heather Boisclair, Chuck Stoltz, James Wood, Dylan Timm, Torii Erickson, Nicole Anderson, Natasha Randall, Woody Schwarze, Alyscia Braun, Ryan Frick, Daniel Madson, Tammy Zarbok, Dan Andrist, Matt Shauer, Corrie Petersen, Mary Fueling, Debbie Chan, Adrianna Luetmer, Christy Stricker, Lindsey Gruber, Faith Kemp and Kathleen Anderson.
