Odelia “Dilly” Wilhemina Dahlheimer died July 13, 2010.
Odelia was born October 28, 1926 in Elrosa to Nicholas and Cecelia (Deters) Barten. At the age of 16 she moved to the Minneapolis area. Here she found happiness living and working in the Twin Cities area.
Odelia was united in marriage to Douglas Matthew Dahlheimer of Dayton in February of 1949. They built a home in Maple Grove in 1953 where they lived most of their working life. They retired to Alexandria in 1981, where they loved their home on the lake and later in the woods near their grandchildren.
She enjoyed traveling and visiting friends across the nation, and was always planning her next destination. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed special dinners out with them. Some of her favorite memories were cruising to Alaska and through the Panama Canal, and a trip to Tennessee to see her daughter’s new home there.
Odelia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Douglas; daughters, Laurie (Steve) Olson of Alexandria and Nicole (James) Beyl of Franklin, Tennessee; grandchildren, Shelby (Anthony) Olson Acosta, Timothy Beyl, Theodore Beyl, J. Charles Beyl and Crosbee Olson; siblings, Ray Barten, Don Barten, Elverna Keller, Lucille Sindermann, Rosie Spanier, Doris Arens, Janice Miller; and sisters-in-law, Monica Barten and Virginia Barten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Alfred and Richard.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
