Celebrate Miltona 'Tornado Days'
Miltona Tornado Days is celebrating its 40th anniversary and there is a full weekend of activities planned.
Miltona Tornado Days is celebrating its 40th anniversary and there is a full weekend of activities planned.
Tornado Days will run Friday, July 16 through Sunday, July 18. There will be plenty to do throughout the weekend – horse-drawn wagon rides, baseball, parade, street dance, variety of food stands including the 4-H brat stand and much more.
Here is a look at the schedule of events:
Friday, July 16
4 to 8 p.m. – Craft sale at the Miltona Community Center.
4 to 8 p.m. – Pork chop feed at Faith Lutheran Church.
6 to 10 p.m. – Dance at Gwen’s place.
Saturday, July 17
9 a.m. – VFW Auxiliary bake sale.
9 a.m. – Messy Bessy will begin.
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Craft sale at Miltona Community Center.
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Community bake sale at Miltona Community Center. Funds will be donated to Spruce Hill Foundation.
9 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Jail fundraiser at Miltona Liquor Store.
10 a.m. – Kiddie games, sponsored by Cub Scouts Brandie and T.J. Schlosser, will begin.
10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Brunch at Gwen’s Place.
11 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Beer garden in downtown Miltona.
Noon – Town parade. Grand marshal is Mark Anthony, weatherman for KSAX-TV. Parade announcing and music will be provided by Shane Henrichs.
1 to 3 p.m. – Water fights featuring area fire departments.
3 to 4:30 p.m. – Kiddie tractor pull.
5 to 8 p.m. – VFW pork dinner at the Miltona VFW.
8 p.m. to 1 a.m. – Street dance featuring Whiplash.
Sunday, July 18
8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Dad’s Belgian waffle breakfast and brunch at the Miltona Fire Hall.
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Craft sale at the Miltona Community Center.
9:30 to 10:30 a.m. – Church service at Miltona baseball field. Bring lawn chairs.
2 to 6 p.m. – Dance featuring Pure Country at Gwen’s Place.
