The Bike and Fitness Company of Alexandria will host a pair of races this weekend, with the Great Alexandria Bike Race tomorrow, Saturday, July 17, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and the Alexandria Subway Criterium Bike Race on Sunday, July 18 between 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Saturday’s race will begin at Alexandria Extrusion, running west on County Road 22 to Garfield, north on County Road 12 to the race loop, which will run east on County Road 58, north on County Road 7, east on County Road 5, south on County Road 12, with the final run back to Alexandria on County Road 12 to Garfield, then east on County Road 22.
Sunday’s race will be held in downtown Alexandria, beginning on Broadway Street, continuing down 9th Avenue to Hawthorne Street to 6th Avenue and back onto Broadway.
Northbound and southbound traffic will be diverted to the two lanes of southbound Broadway Street. No parking will be permitted on or inside the course.
The best places to view the race will be on Broadway Street for the finish, or any of the four corners of the race.
The Bike and Fitness Company would like to request that pets along the race route are secured to ensure their safety and the safety of the riders.
The Bike & Fitness Company Bike Race is part of the Minnesota Cycling Federation race calendar and the Great Alexandria Bike Race weekend.
