A White Earth man made his first appearance Tuesday in Becker County District Court on felony charges of third degree assault and first degree criminal property damage.
Richard Allen Thompson, 20, P.O. Box 320, White Earth, is accused of striking a male victim in the head with a golf club on Sunday, July 4, at a White Earth residence, causing the victim to suffer a brain hemorrhage that required him to be taken to Fargo for treatment.
Later, when Thompson was being sought for questioning in the incident, a woman approached the investigating officers and told them that he had also vandalized her car, smashing the windshield and damaging both the exterior mirror and tail light on the driver’s side. The damage was estimated at $1,000.
Thompson has been released on $5,000 bail pending his next court appearance on July 12.
